3-28-23 Devotions Isaiah 45:5 God Is The Authority

Isaiah 45:5 “I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God.”

Roman 4:17 “As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.”

Numbers 23:19 “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”

Hebrews 6:18 “so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Joel 2:28-29 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.”

Acts 2:16-18 – But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

God calls into being things that were not and He cannot lie.    God has revealed to us these two things about Himself.  They are essential truths to us which are vital to our knowledge of Him. God has also said that in the last days, which Peter declared had started in Acts 2, we now live in the last days, and in our days His Spirit would be poured out on mankind and that young people will see visions and old people will dream dreams from the Lord God. The Apostle Peter in Acts 2 clearly stated that these days as recorded in Joel 2 began in their day. Since our days are after his days surely we are in the “last days.” Recorded in Joel 2 we see that God, who “cannot lie” said that His Spirit (Holy Spirit) will be poured out on “all flesh.”  We know that His Spirit has been given to all who love and obey the Lord Jesus. (John 3:36)  We also know that we are in the last days since our days are after the days that Peter lived in.  Through the prophet Joel we have been told that God’s people during our time, will be filled with the Holy Spirit within and that some young people will have divine visions and some old people will dream divine dreams.  So what about us.  Have we been having dreams that we don’t where they come from? Has the Lord sent them to us?  Should we be, upon the true prophecy of the Lord, considering that as our dreams line up with the Word of God, that we may be given a dream or vision from the Lord? (John 14:8-9 “ Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?)

As we know from Peter’s declaration (Act 2) and from studying biblical prophecies and being aware of the signs of our times we are in the last days for over two thousand years.  Who will we believe about the giving of divine dreams and visions?  The prophecies of God or the hope lacking teachings of some men?  I know whom I will believe in, the written Word of God.  How about you?  If God is doing this in some, then can He be wanting to do this with you?  Know the Word of God and receive.  His promises are for you if you belong to Him through Jesus.  Know and have Jesus and know and have God.  Upon my faith in Jesus I believe that this promise from God is for me and for all whom believe in Him.  As I believed that Jesus saved me, I, in the same way, believe the full Word of God.  Thank you Jesus! Believe in Jesus and follow Him and therefore be saved eternally and prosper spiritually. Praise the Lord!
