Matthew 16:24-28 “Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[g] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.”
When my sons were young children, even as toddlers, I used to stress to them that nothing is more important for their lives then Jesus. I, pretty much daily, told them that loving and serving Jesus is by far the most important things in their lives. They were taught that with Jesus they have everything and without Him they have nothing. I would often quiz them asking them what was most important in their lives and they would respond “Jesus.” Now they are men and they remember the lesson that the Holy Spirit grew within them. I thank the Lord that they would still tell you the same. Praise God! Teach our children and grandchildren, as often as possible about Jesus. They must know from the beginning His great love for us and what He has done for us. Jesus Himself is who we must know, love and serve and teach them when they’re young and it’ll be bedrock for the rest of their lives. Glory to God!
Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
