Ephesians 5:15-16 – Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Family and Friends it does not take a prophet to see that we live in perilous times. But what of these times. What are we to make of them? Who can discern the times? What is the test? It is the man who daily dwells in the Spirit and Word of the Lord who can best determine the times. Those who love His Word are not caught unaware but have known times like these would come. Yet seeing through this foggy landscape one must keep in both Spirit and Scripture and only then can things become more clear. Seeking God the days will be seen as wise pupils perceive. Intelligence is not the key, but humility before God is. The ones who abandon their own wisdom and perceptions and seek answers from God will know what those who hate God cannot know. Fear makes hearts roil but the heart of those who live with the Spirit rests upon solid ground.
Malachi 3:18 – So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
What is the difference between one person and another? Whose eyes will be filled with light that pierce darkness and discern between ugly and beauty. Whose eyes will identify the holy from the unholy? Those who love and serve God will see the difference. But those who refuse God will see a snarling and hateful face and think it is harmless and loving. Those of the Lord will see the Truth. To properly discern one must daily live with the Spirit of God. Those who are in the Spirit rightly understand 1 Corinthians 2:10-16.
Philippians 1:9-11 – And this I pray, that your love may overflow still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may discover the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ; 11 having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.
How do we discern the servants of the Lord? How do we discern each other’s hearts? We all are exposed, are revealed by the two greatest commandments (Mark 12:30-31) and by what Jesus plainly said “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Yet some are deceptive, only by the Spirit will we truly discern. 1 Corinthians 2:15 – But the one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no one.
Matthew 16:3 – And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but are you unable to discern the signs of the times?
What of the times? Search the Word by the Spirit. By the Spirit.
Deuteronomy 32:28-29 – “For they are a nation destitute of counsel, And there is no understanding in them. 29 If only they were wise and they understood this; If only they would discern their future!
God loves us. He does not abandon us. He calls to us to follow His lead. He calls us to love Him more than our mortal lives and more than anything on this earth. To love Him more than any person or anything. Love and serve God. Set aside pride and yield to Him. Receive His Spirit and be embraced by Him. Then eyes will see and minds will know. All to the glory of God and for the rescue of souls. Praise God!
Psalm 150:6 – Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
Micah 7:7 – But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will Hear me.
Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, Oh man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Numbers 6:24-26 – The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
