Psalm 100:5 – For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
I haven’t seen the moon cry or tears from the sun, and they still seem to chase each other twenty four hours a day. Though a day will come when their service is done, for now they are faithful in their assignments. And in these things, and infinitely more things, I am reminded that God is good and He loves me. This earth that we walk upon, that we live upon, still remains here for us. Trees grow upon it, the creatures of the world have homes upon it. The mighty lion roars, the otters frolic in the waters, the immense whales break surface and leap into the air, and my dog still likes to go for walks on it. And in these things, and infinitely more things, I am reminded that God is good and He loves me. I hear morning birds singing such lovely “Good Morning” songs and I fall asleep as the night birds sing sweet lullabies. Roosters still crow, kittens are still around for my granddaughter to love. The ocean, the mountains, the deserts, the sunrise and sunset, and the majestic night skies still take my breath away. And in these things, and infinitely more things, I am reminded that God is good and He loves me. My little granddaughter slips her hand into mine and says “come on” as she pulls me to play with her. My wife kisses me every morning and says that she loves me. My children tell me they love me. And some others love me. And in these things, and infinitely more things, I am reminded that God is good and He loves me.
There are many things I have learned, so many bits of information I know. Yet none of them are grander, more eloquent, so precious, so beautiful, so powerful, so earth-stopping, and so assuring and wonderful to me than the fact that God is always good and that He loves me. Nothing do I cling to more than the reality and presence of God. Nothing is more comforting and nothing is sweeter and nothing makes me more at peace than knowing that God is good and He loves me. Nothing, not His beautiful creation, nor even the wonderful blessings He gives, are greater than my sure knowledge of my tangible God. And I know that as true for me is it that God is good and He loves me, I know it is true for all of us. Thank You Lord God Almighty! Thank You God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! Thank You! Nothing is more precious than You. You, oh lovely God, are always good and You love me, You love us. With that, I am at peace. With and in that, I have absolutely all I need. Praise God! Thank you Lord! Praise God!
