Devotion John 3:16-17 For The Love Of God

John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

My siblings and I had very unselfish parents.  Some will not understand the level of their commitment to us, but we do.  We knew it simply was an expression of their love.  Not a forced expression, but one that flowed from within them.  This was not from one of them, it was from both of them.  My parents drove a 1968 Ford Country Esquire Station Wagon for a lot of years.  Before they bought a new car for themselves they bought all three of us cars.  A new car for my sister, a slightly used car for me, then a new car for my brother.  They had to pay off all those cars before they could buy themselves a new one.  It took a few years before they could again get their own new car.  They were not wealthy.  We lived in a nice, but modest home in a modest neighborhood.  The point is, they gave to us from their deep love when they could have very easily not given.  It was above and beyond the call of duty.  That’s how they always were.  They did their best for us.  Again, not out of conscious, but from the love in their hearts.  We were all much loved.

All the gifts were wonderful, but most wonderful were the gift givers.  It would have been shameful to be ungrateful.  Now, as I reflect back, I am in awe of how amazing they were!

There is a gift giver to all of us.  The gift giver and the gift carry equal value for all of us. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16-17)  God gave us Jesus, His very best to bless us beyond any other blessing.  God gave Himself.  He gave us Jesus who in His unlimited mind gazed into the eyes of all persons ever born.  Overflowing with love for us He said to the Father “I will do it.”  I pray that all who read this will with fullness of gratitude accept the gift of God and receive blessed eternal life with Him that He gave to us through Jesus.  We accept gifts from each other, why would we shove away the precious gift of God?  Why would we refuse what He has paid so heavily to give.  God bless everyone!  He does you know.  May you all know and walk in the endless love He has for us.  Praise God!

Psalm 150:6 – Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord!

Micah 7:7 – But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

Micah 6:8 – He has shown You, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of You but to do justly, to love mercy, And to walk humbly with Your God.

Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”
