One of the most horrific things I can think of is that people who say they don’t believe in God are often influencing, and even dragging others along in their belief. What that means, based on the only Word of God, the Bible, is that they are influencing / dragging to hell, those they profess to love. I know of very loving (as the world would view it) people, who are dragging others to hell with them. They are dragging them to this place of torment where none of them will ever be released from. There is no rest in hell. There is no peace. No time outs. Suffering is so overwhelming, eternal and all-consuming that there will be no comfort in each other. Worse, seeing those “loved” ones in such suffering will only add to one’s own suffering. If you were the person that influenced / dragged them there, surely your suffering will be multiplied beyond anything we can imagine. As much as we look into the eyes of those we love and are overwhelmed with joy, that good feeling will only add to the torment of hell. So leading people we supposedly love to a place of torment, is that loving them? If you are upset because God condemns sin, and you are willing to condemn yourself to hell, are you also willing to drag others with you? If you have been hurt, or are standing in allegiance with someone whom you love, is that worth going to hell and bringing your loved ones with you?
I have found, that very few, if any, truly don’t believe that God exists, no matter what they say. So what then? In order to justify their lifestyles they either deny God or make up other ways to reach Him. Jesus said in John 14:6 – “I Am The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus didn’t leave room to believe in any other way. You either love and follow Him or you reject Him. He left no room for anyone to re-make Him into the image that most pleases oneself. He came to be the Way to God and to show us who God truly is. Jesus came and perfectly lived as our Father God called Him to live so that Jesus would perfectly represent God to us. Trying to remake Jesus into something that is more pleasing to us, whatever that is, is making an idol and is a travesty to God.
So what is true love? Sharing the Truth of God or sharing a belief that is driven by selfish satisfaction and that, in the end, will be revealed that even the professor didn’t believe. Yes, this is a hard truth and yet I write to all that it is with great love and humility that it is delivered to you. The easy path is to go about my life and not share The Truth. I can’t do that because I do love. I weep for those who push Jesus away. I worry and lament their future. Yet I am rescued from being overwhelmed with grief by the fact that our God is desirous to bring all to Him and He is also fully capable of doing so, if we are willing.
If you have questions, please let me know. If you would like to talk, please let me know. I am available to serve you however I am able. Not that I have all the answers, but I do know the truth, and In John 8:32 Jesus said “32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” In John 8:36 Jesus said “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” I hope that truth and freedom, real truth and genuine freedom, sounds good to you.
Is living one’s chosen lifestyle worth leading yourself and those you profess to love to hell? I doubt that real love could believe that. I hope that your self-styled religion is not more important than God Himself, or than people you love. God knows you. He knows everything about you. He knows your hurt and your shame. He certainly knows mine. Still, as He loves me, He loves you. He wants you to fully know Him. Take His hand and let Him lead you to heaven, where He wants you to be. Where you end up is your choice because Jesus, the real Jesus, made the Way.
