Devotion Psalm 121:1-2 Desperately Looking

Psalm 121:1-2 – I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?  2My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Where do the redeemed of the Lord find their help?  It is from the Creator of all created things, it is from God Himself.  We do not look at the problem before us but keep our eyes focused on the Answer and that Answer is God Almighty! When a child is learning to walk and starts to fall, the child looks to who is doing the catching and prevents the fall.  The child looks to Daddy or Mommy and faithfully expects to be “saved.”  So for all of us it is God who always does the rescuing!  In this world we all continuously need rescuing.  We need the always able hands of our God to catch us.  We look to Him who has rescued us and who loves and desires to rescue us every single time, we look to our God.  Family and Friends, we all first need to be spiritually rescued.  And every day we need to be saved from more things than we could count or think of.  God has loved us before the creation of the earth (Ephesians 1:4) and will continue to love us through our entire earthly life (Jeremiah 31:3, Hebrews 13:5b).  The only question is whether or not we will love Him.  Will our hope and salvation be in someone or something that cannot save or will it be in God?  We must, every day, with our greatest passion, seek God and then, every day, we will find Him! (Jeremiah 29:13)  Family and Friends we know that ultimately it is only God who saves, in every way, it is only Him.  Let our eyes look up, to the mountain tops, and beyond into the twinkling lights in the sky and consider and rely upon our God.  Let’s know Him and look to Him every moment of every day.  He loves us!  So much that God the Father sent His Son Jesus to die for us.  God the Holy Spirit bears witness of this truth to us all.  He wants all to live with Him eternally.  I pray for all of you, that you either do or will know what it is to rely solely on God for your salvation, both spiritual and physical.  Lift our eyes, rely only on God, and love Him.  After all, His eyes are on each individual one of us.  He is good.  He loves us.  Hold tight to Him who will always hold tight to you. Love God!  Be thankful to God!  Praise God!  Yes, praise God!

Psalm 150:6 – Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord!

Micah 7:7 – But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

Micah 6:8 – He has shown You, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of You but to do justly, to love mercy, And to walk humbly with Your God.
