Psalm 34:18 – The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Jeremiah 29:13 – You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Isaiah 40:11 – He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.
Psalm 145:18 – The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Matthew 21:44 – Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.
The Lord our God, the Lord Almighty who is Creator of the heavens, the earth and all of us, whose power is so mighty that the courage of the wise melts into humility. He created all by just the power of His Word (Genesis 1, Psalm 33:9, John 1:1-3, 2 Peter 3:5), and He shall destroy this earth and replace it with another also solely by the power of His Word (2 Peter 3:10-13, 2 Peter 3:7). Seas part because He calls tell them to. Existence of all that has ever existed, exists and will exist is simply because He wills it to be so (Colossians 1:16). No-one can resist Him (Isaiah 43:13). No-one has ever been able to prevent what He wills and none will ever be able to do so. How is it possible to resist the One with unlimited and never ending power and who knows everything and always has known everything. It is vanity and foolishness to resist our God who is great and powerful. Unlimited power, the One who to whom nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37, Matthew 19:26). He who allows and brings down mighty kingdoms (Daniel 2:21). People of earth be wise and bow low your hearts and minds for none can overcome Him and He needs no counsel (Isaiah 40:13). God is fearsome beyond comprehension (Exodus 15:11).
God is loving beyond comprehension. From the most powerful and awesome is love most greatly revealed. The One who is most powerful and yet humbles Himself to love and serve His own creation is the One who loves the most. He has no need for another, yet chooses to love all people because He wills to do so. God is whole and has not needs. He is perfectly whole within Himself and has no need for companionship outside Himself. Still, He has from eternity past chosen to love man. He created man to love Him. This in and of itself was a service to man. Who is man that the All Powerful One should consider Him (Psalm 8:4)? Who is man that God should love Him? Who is man that God the Father should send His Son to die for all women and men and then, to put His very own Spirit within man. He put His Spirit, His essence, within man, weak and fallible man, that He could serve, love and guide man to a better destiny than Hell, to which we were all headed. What kind of love is this that the All Powerful One should choose to humble Himself, that His Son should not grasp onto His throne instead of releasing it and coming from His high place in Heaven to love and save the children of God. How deep is the love that the Creator of heaven, earth and mankind should set aside His mighty power to allow sinful man to mock Him, to spit on Him, to torture Him, and to crucify Him, all to die for those who would hear of Him and love Him ((Philippians 2:5-8)? Family and Friends, who is this God? Who is our Savior and who is His Holy Spirit that lives within us. Here is who He is, He is God. He is God who loves us because He wants to. He who can do anything and yet what He chooses to do is to love us. He who is above all waits patiently for His children to come home to Him. He stands in the front yard and looks to the horizon, waiting for each of us to come. When we come He rejoices over us, He cries in joy over us, He hugs and kisses us. He says to us “Welcome home, I will ever hold you close. Stay with me, in my house and know love, joy and peace for all eternity.” (Luke 15:11-32) That is our God! We know so little of all that He is. Infinitely little. Yet what we know is beyond our wildest dreams of what love is. God is love, joy, peace patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control that is infinitely beyond all that we can imagine or understand. He is a mystery and beauty so deep and profound that we will explore who He is for eternity and never reach the end of who He is.
This great God, beyond our understanding has chosen, because He wanted to, to love us. He is the one who loves, and understands always! Family, pursue and hold close the greatest gift and help God has given us…Himself! If we hurt, draw near, nearer and nearer still to Him who can comfort in all circumstances. Pursue God and find that He is ever near! Praise our God who is good and who loves us! Praise our God! Forever we shall love Him and sing His praises! Praise God!
