Old Tyme Religion
What this song means to me is that the Christian Faith, that carried all that have come before us, all those that truly have loved and do love Jesus, that is good enough for me. I don’t need a “new” revelation. Christianity does not need to be changed. To say that Word of God needs to adapt, to change, or to flex means that I have no religion left. If God needs to change then He does not know, and has not known everything. That would mean He is not the God of the Bible. No, I don’t need that. I don’t want that. I simply want to walk with God. I want to walk on the singular road with Him and to listen to His voice and feel His love. I want to do my best for Him. To say I’m sorry when I mess up and to know that He will quickly forgives me before the next step of my journey with Him falls. God loves. He is quick to forgive all those who repent. So simple. So beautiful. Yes, give me the simple faith. Give me that Old Tyme Religion, its good enough for me!
