Revelation 17:1-2<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0One of the seven angels\u00a0who had the seven bowls\u00a0came and said to me, \u201cCome, I will show you the punishment\u00a0of the great prostitute,\u00a0who sits by many waters.\u00a02\u00a0With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.\u201d<\/i><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201c<\/span>One of the seven angels\u00a0who had the seven bowls\u00a0came and said to me,\u201d<\/i>\u00a0We always want to know what it is that God did not tell us.\u00a0 He did not here tell us which bowl this angel poured out.\u00a0 So what are we to conclude from that?\u00a0 If God didn\u2019t tell us then we did not need to know!\u00a0 Family, it is all really so simple.\u00a0 Do we believe that God is God and we are not?\u00a0 If we do, then let\u2019s just trust God that what He does not reveal is what we do not need to know.\u00a0 Not only that, with all the attempts of man to know what God has not revealed it all pretty much ends up in the theory category and not in the fact category.\u00a0 Trust God, not ourselves, and then life is easier and better! (Proverbs 3:5-6<\/b>).<\/p>\n

\u201cCome, I will show you the punishment\u00a0of the great prostitute,\u00a0who sits by many waters.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0 The Bible interprets the Bible.\u00a0\u00a0Revelation 17:15<\/b>\u00a0directly tells us what are the waters that the \u201cgreat prostitute<\/i>\u201d sits by.\u00a0 The waters are \u201cpeoples, multitudes, nations and languages.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0 This is speaking to her influence over the world.<\/p>\n

The NIV and ESV use the word \u201cprostitute\u201d to describe this corrupting agent to the world.\u00a0 The KJV version translates it as \u201cwhore.\u201d\u00a0 Both are apt descriptions.\u00a0 However one can wonder if \u201cprostitute,\u201d in contemporary use, might not have the impact that the word is meant to have.\u00a0 Perhaps nowadays the word prostitute might carry with it, with good reason, a person who has been victimized.\u00a0 Whereas the word whore is related to a person to whom this word would be applied as someone who is what they are out of their own choice.\u00a0 Though actually, volition and victimization is likely applicable to both, the word whore seems to carry more punch.\u00a0 This person who is being described is the willing committer of spiritual and physical fornication.\u00a0 This whore likes what she is doing and advocating the world to join her.\u00a0 She knowingly rejects God and does not consider a change, repentance, as an option.<\/p>\n

We must remember that this word is also used of many that Jesus saved.\u00a0 For those whose do not have hearts of stone, this word could have applied to us before we came to the Lord.\u00a0 We too were committing adultery with the ways of the world.\u00a0 We joined with them in what we knew in our hearts we should not.\u00a0 The difference is that some have hearts that are hardened and refuse to respond to God.\u00a0 Others have soft hearts and respond to God.\u00a0 Reject Jesus and pay for one\u2019s sins.\u00a0 Submit to Him and the gift of acceptance to God is received.\u00a0\u00a0 The choice belongs to all and all shall get what they chose.<\/p>\n

The prostitute is not any member of the Bride of Christ.\u00a0 When a member of the Bride of Christ chooses to sin instead of choosing God, that is adultery.\u00a0 A bride, or a groom, commits adultery against their spouse.\u00a0 This whore does not belong to God of their own choice.\u00a0 Besides, at this time, most of the believers in Jesus are in Heaven.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0 This whore (purposely using this word rather than prostitute to drive home the effect), to perpetuate her lifestyle needs companions in her sins.\u00a0 To make her profit and satisfy her she needs people to join her.\u00a0 In joining together they think they have approval and justification for their deeds (Romans 1:32<\/b>).\u00a0 They deceive only themselves (Galatians 6:7<\/b>).<\/p>\n

Family we are not children appointed to wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9<\/b>).\u00a0 Let us be sure to not congratulate ourselves, as we have not saved ourselves, but our children of God because of the grace of God (Ephesians 2:2-9<\/b>).\u00a0 Therefore let us give thanks and joyously praise Him who has saved us from the Second Death.\u00a0 Let us praise God!\u00a0 Amen!\u00a0 Praise God!<\/p>\n

Psalm 150:6<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.\u00a0 Praise the Lord!<\/i><\/p>\n
