Revelation 16:12-16<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates,\u00a0and its water was dried up to prepare the way\u00a0for the kings from the East.13\u00a0Then I saw three impure spirits\u00a0that looked like frogs;\u00a0they came out of the mouth of the dragon,\u00a0out of the mouth of the beast\u00a0and out of the mouth of the false prophet.\u00a014\u00a0They are demonic spirits\u00a0that perform signs,\u00a0and they go out to the kings of the whole world,\u00a0to gather them for the battle\u00a0on the great day\u00a0of God Almighty. 15\u00a0\u201cLook, I come like a thief!\u00a0Blessed is the one who stays awake\u00a0and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.\u201d 16\u00a0Then they gathered the kings together\u00a0to the place that in Hebrew\u00a0is called Armageddon.<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cThe sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates,\u00a0and its water was dried up to prepare the way\u00a0for the kings from the East.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0The river Euphrates was often referred to as \u201cthe River\u201d or the \u201cGreat River.\u201d We first read of it in\u00a0Genesis 2:14<\/b>\u00a0as it is one of the four rivers that ran through Eden.\u00a0\u00a0It is also one of the defined borders of the Promised Land that God promised to Israel (Abraham) (Genesis 15:18, Exodus 23:31<\/b>). Here it plays an important part of the final battle at Armageddon.\u00a0\u00a0Until the sixth angel pours out his bowl and dries up the river, the two hundred million man army (Revelation 9:13-16<\/b>) will not make their march to the \u201chill\u201d or \u201ccity\u201d of Megiddo for the \u201cbattle.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0In the past, non-believers scoffed at the idea of this mighty river drying up.\u00a0\u00a0However in 1994 the site manager of the Ataturk Dam that is in southeastern Turkey was quoted as saying \u201cIt is true that we can stop the flow of water in Syria and Iraq for up to eight months in order to regulate their political behavior.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Man has always scoffed at the prophecies of God, even at God\u2019s Word, but God\u2019s Word has never failed and it will never fail.\u00a0\u00a0All will come to pass.\u00a0\u00a0All.<\/p>\n
The \u201ckings of the east\u201d may be translated either \u201ckings of the east\u201d or \u201ckings of the rising sun.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Either way it refers to the massive army coming from the east.\u00a0\u00a0Kings of the rising sun could easily be understood as referring to Japan, however it has broadly be understood to be referring to China, or China with allies.\u00a0\u00a0This huge army of two hundred million soldiers is often understood to be China.\u00a0\u00a0It seems that it was Hal Lindsey (The Late Great Planet Earth) who popularized the view that it would be China due to the boast of the Chinese themselves who circa 1970 stated they could field a \u201cpeople\u2019s army\u201d of two hundred million.\u00a0\u00a0Although China is indeed the most populated country in the world (estimated over one billion three hundred million), India also now has a population that is estimated to be almost one billion three hundred million.\u00a0\u00a0The huge populations in the east certainly make it possible that an army of this number could be gathered.<\/p>\n
In all these prophecies, in all the events of the world, we see that God\u2019s inerrant Word has stood fast and is even today unfolding before us. Judgment that devastates the world is coming, but what we look to is that also coming is the fulfillment of the promises of God to all who will come to Him through Jesus our Savior and Lord.\u00a0\u00a0Family, let us look to God and strain toward Him as we await His coming and the end of all our struggles.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n
