Revelation 13:1-2<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0The dragon\u00a0stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea.\u00a0It had ten horns and seven heads,\u00a0with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.\u00a02\u00a0The beast I saw resembled a leopard,\u00a0but had feet like those of a bear\u00a0and a mouth like that of a lion.\u00a0The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>The dragon\u00a0stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea.\u00a0It had ten horns and seven heads,\u00a0with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0 The dragon, the devil stood on the shore watching the \u201cbeast\u201d (the Antichrist) rising out of the sea. The sea if often used to represent something ominous, sinister and threatening.\u00a0\u00a0Revelation 17:15<\/b>\u00a0seems to state that waters, or the sea, represents the gentile nations.\u00a0 Actually both of these interpretations of the sea could bring a fuller understanding.\u00a0 Indeed something ominous, sinister and threatening is rising up from the gentile nations.<\/p>\n

The horns represent power and the crowns are representative of authority.<\/p>\n

The beast will have \u201cten horns and seven heads,\u00a0with ten crowns on its horns<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0 Meaning is brought to this scripture in\u00a0Daniel 7<\/b>.\u00a0 Looking at\u00a0Vs 2-8<\/b>\u00a0and also\u00a0Daniel 2<\/b>\u00a0the seven heads are identified as Greece (7:6<\/b>), Medo-Persia (7:5<\/b>), Babylon (7:4<\/b>) and the Roman Empire (7:7<\/b>). \u00a0Daniel 7:17<\/b>\u00a0states \u201cThe four great beast are four kings that will rise from the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Revelation 17:9<\/b>\u00a0says that the seven heads are seven hills.\u00a0 Many interpret this to be the seven hills that surround Rome (Aventine Hill, Caelian Hill, Capitoline Hill, Esquiline Hill, Palatine Hill, Quirinal Hill, and Viminal Hill) and thusly believe the Antichrist will rise from Rome.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe beast I saw resembled a leopard,\u00a0but had feet like those of a bear\u00a0and a mouth like that of a lion.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 You will notice that Daniel lists the order of these empires in reverse order than John does.\u00a0 The reason is because Daniel was looking forward and John was looking back.\u00a0 Greece is the leopard as they quickly overtook nations.\u00a0 The bear represents the Medes and Persians.\u00a0 It has three ribs in its mouth between its teeth (7:5<\/b>).\u00a0 The three ribs in its mouth represent the three nations it conquered: Babylon, Lydia, and Egypt.\u00a0 The Lion is representative of Babylon (King Nebuchadnezzar) (7:4<\/b>).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.\u201d\u00a0 The dragon is trying copy God.\u00a0 He wanted to replace God and was thrown out of heaven.\u00a0 Now he makes an unholy \u201ctrinity\u201d with him as the father, the Antichrist as his son, and the False Prophet (2nd<\/sup>\u00a0beast) like the Holy Spirit.\u00a0\u00a0 As Jesus walked in the full authority and power of Father God, the devil gives his \u201cson\u201d his power and authority.\u00a0 The Antichrist is the one that resists, that rebels against God.\u00a0 He is the devil\u2019s version of a copycat Jesus.\u00a0 Of course we know that the devil is not God and does not have God\u2019s power and authority.\u00a0 In reality, the Antichrist is an infinitely weaker version of Jesus.\u00a0 The Antichrist is the enemy\u2019s effort, again, to overthrow God.\u00a0 Of course we have read the \u201cend of the book\u201d and know that the devil again loses.\u00a0 God wins and so we win.\u00a0 In fact, we know we have already won.<\/p>\n

The Antichrist has great power to yield, but he has no power of his own.\u00a0 He gets all his power from the devil.\u00a0\u00a0 The power that the devil wields is limited by God.\u00a0 So God allows authority and power to the devil, and to the two beasts.\u00a0 But only for a time and not unlimited power.\u00a0 We needn\u2019t worry, the Lord God has it all in control.\u00a0 The devil and his beasts think they are supreme and in control.\u00a0 However, what they mean for bad, God turns for good\u2026all the time (Romans 8:28<\/b>).<\/p>\n

Family the devil uses counterfeits and pollutes what is God\u2019s creation.\u00a0 God gave the Holy Spirit to us to teach, guide, lead and correct us.\u00a0 We have been gifted to us from God the Holy Spirit and with Him the fruit of the Spirit and the Gifts of the Spirit.\u00a0 The devil attempts to counter these, but because the devil counterfeits them that does not mean that the original does not exist.\u00a0 In fact, the counterfeit proves the existence of the original.\u00a0\u00a0 God creates, and the devil copies and pollutes.<\/p>\n

Again, we need not be afraid, God is victorious in all ways.\u00a0 As it has been said, while we are in the will of God, we are invincible.\u00a0 We are invincible in the power of Almighty God!\u00a0 May we take comfort in that! \u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n

Psalm 150:6<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.\u00a0 Praise the Lord!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Micah 7:7<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0But as for me, I watch\u00a0in hope\u00a0for the\u00a0Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear\u00a0me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
