I long for a place I\u2019ve never been<\/p>\n
Looking, I search for it, but I have never seen it<\/p>\n
Yet I know it is there<\/p>\n
Never beheld but alive within me is my home<\/p>\n
I live here, but this is not my home<\/p>\n
I look around at those who don\u2019t know me<\/p>\n
But say they do<\/p>\n
Walking a solitary walk, I am never alone<\/p>\n
Happy because of a King I\u2019ve seen<\/p>\n
Only through the eyes of faith<\/p>\n
Yet I know Him more than I know myself<\/p>\n
Trust Him more than I trust myself<\/p>\n
Treacherous I can be to mine own self<\/p>\n
Faithful and True is my King<\/p>\n
Deserving of contempt, scorn and destruction, instead<\/p>\n
He lifts me up with love, kindness and encouragement<\/p>\n
Deserving of love, honor, adulation and glory,<\/p>\n
He didn\u2019t cling to riches, abandoning what He had,<\/p>\n
Becoming a pauper with no bed to lie upon,<\/p>\n
He suffered and was abused and was trampled<\/p>\n
So that I wouldn\u2019t be.<\/p>\n
Thus suffering reminds me that He suffered<\/p>\n
And expectantly and hopefully I look to the day<\/p>\n
That all the hurt goes away<\/p>\n
His wisdom I search for and it is<\/p>\n
His face I seek<\/p>\n
One thing I desire of my Lord<\/p>\n
To live at His feet and gaze upon His beauty<\/p>\n
One thing I yearn to hear from Him<\/p>\n
\u201cWell done thou good and faithful servant\u201d<\/p>\n
Certainly I don\u2019t deserve the words<\/p>\n
Yet I long for them<\/p>\n
He alone is my strong tower, my refuge<\/p>\n
Only He can ease the pain<\/p>\n
Searching\u2026needing\u2026howling to the skies<\/p>\n
Like a searching parched coyote in the desert<\/p>\n
Seeking that which gives life<\/p>\n
To Him alone I look<\/p>\n
Where is my solace but in Him<\/p>\n
I need not look long<\/p>\n
Quickly He hears my gasps for help<\/p>\n
He is my everything; He is the All Sufficient One.<\/p>\n
As I lay in the hot sun, overwhelmed by it<\/p>\n
He sets down one knee beside me<\/p>\n
Bending He gently lifts my head off the hot sand<\/p>\n
Whispering \u201cI am with you\u201d<\/p>\n
He pours cool water of life past my lips.<\/p>\n
He revives me with sustenance.<\/p>\n
My body is comforted, my spirit sings<\/p>\n
This temporary body is temporarily calmed by water and food<\/p>\n
My spirit sings because He lives within me<\/p>\n
Wiping away my tears<\/p>\n
Lifting me to my feet<\/p>\n
He sends me on the path He gives me<\/p>\n
Sometimes the path is very easy<\/p>\n
Sometimes it is very hard<\/p>\n
Always, easy or hard, only with Him<\/p>\n
Only by Him<\/p>\n
Am I able to travel the path<\/p>\n
Traveling the path<\/p>\n
One thought I cling to<\/p>\n
He is good all the time<\/p>\n
Nothing else is<\/p>\n
Traveling the path<\/p>\n
On my destination my eyes remained fixed<\/p>\n
Fixed on Him<\/p>\n
He is my destination<\/p>\n
He is my all<\/p>\n
Come good or bad<\/p>\n
One He is truth above all<\/p>\n
He is Love and Truth<\/p>\n
He is good all the time<\/p>\n
Nothing else is<\/p>\n
