John 6:26-40\u00a0<\/b>–\u00a0Jesus answered them and said,\u00a0\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, you\u00a0seek Me, not because you saw\u00a0signs, but because you ate some of the loaves and were filled.\u00a027\u00a0Do not\u00a0work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for\u00a0eternal life, which\u00a0the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God,\u00a0has set His\u00a0seal.\u201d\u00a028\u00a0Therefore they said to Him, \u201cWhat are we to do, so that we may accomplish the works of God?\u201d\u00a029\u00a0Jesus answered and said to them,\u00a0\u201cThis is\u00a0the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He\u00a0has sent.\u201d\u00a030\u00a0So they said to Him, \u201cWhat then are You doing as a\u00a0sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work are You performing?\u00a031\u00a0Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: \u2018He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.\u2019\u201d\u00a032\u00a0Jesus then said to them,\u00a0\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven.\u00a033\u00a0For the bread of God is\u00a0that which\u00a0comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.\u201d\u00a034\u00a0Then they said to Him, \u201cLord, always\u00a0give us this bread.\u201d\u00a0 35\u00a0Jesus said to them,\u00a0\u201cI am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me\u00a0will never be thirsty.\u00a036\u00a0But\u00a0I said to you that you have indeed seen Me, and\u00a0yet\u00a0you do not believe.\u00a037\u00a0Everything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out.\u00a038\u00a0For\u00a0I have come down from heaven,\u00a0not to do My own will, but\u00a0the will of Him who\u00a0sent Me.\u00a039\u00a0And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of\u00a0everything that He has given Me I will\u00a0lose nothing, but will\u00a0raise it up on the last day.\u00a040\u00a0For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who\u00a0sees the Son and\u00a0believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will\u00a0raise him up on the last day.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cThen they said to Him, \u201cLord, always\u00a0give us this bread.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0We know that Jews did not fully understand that the bread Jesus was talking about was Him the bread of eternal life.\u00a0\u00a0It was and is an eternal communion with God throughout eternity.\u00a0\u00a0However, we who love and serve the Lord today understand that Jesus offered to them, and us, eternal life and also daily bread of fellowship.\u00a0\u00a0Each day we wake to the smell of living bread that is ready for nourishment for the day.\u00a0\u00a0It is fresh, warm and sustenance for the day ahead.\u00a0\u00a0Let us eat, and enjoy what our Savior and Lord offers us every day, communion with Him.\u00a0\u00a0Start the day with Him who loved us enough to step down from Heaven and die for us because we needed Him to. (Philippians 2:5-8<\/b>) Have some warm bread with fresh water that God has prepared for us.\u00a0\u00a0Bread that gets sweeter each day and water that is sure to refresh at every drink.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God who loves us.<\/p>\n
\u201cJesus said to them,\u00a0\u201cI am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me\u00a0will never be thirsty.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Jesus is plainly telling them that He is the bread of life and living water that brings people back into fellowship with God the Father.\u00a0\u00a0Sadly, they still did not believe.\u00a0\u00a0Oh Brothers and Sisters, let us cry for all those who today still are rejecting Jesus and because of that will perish instead of live. Think of that, let it hurt us enough to drive us to do the work we have been called to do, to share the Gospel of Jesus to whoever will listen.\u00a0\u00a0Let our love for Jesus compel us.\u00a0\u00a0Let His love compel us.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut\u00a0I said to you that you have indeed seen Me, and\u00a0yet\u00a0you do not believe.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Though Jesus was doing miracles and healings in their presence they refused the Bread of Life and Living Water.\u00a0\u00a0The proof they wanted was seen by them but because of their hard hearts they did not receive.\u00a0\u00a0Sad then and sad now.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out.<\/i>\u201d Everything and everyone the Father has prepared for Jesus will come to Him because the Father has willed it.\u00a0\u00a0He is sovereign and His ways are inscrutable to worldly thoughts.\u00a0\u00a0Only to those who love Jesus does the Holy Spirit within us quicken our understanding tor receive the Word.\u00a0\u00a0Teaching of mankind to each other is ordained by God but the riches of what is taught is unlocked only by the Holy Spirit.\u00a0\u00a0It all begins with loving and serving Jesus, the Bread of Life and the Living Water that satisfies hunger eternally and quenches thirst forever.\u00a0\u00a0Once Jesus is received He will never cast us away.\u00a0\u00a0Yet consider that the free will that we have before we come to Him remains.\u00a0\u00a0Treasure the Lord above all other things and people and in the morning dwell in His presence to gain spiritual nourishment that only comes from Him.\u00a0\u00a0In the morning, before business springs upon us, let us be fed by the Lord and so prosper.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor\u00a0I have come down from heaven,\u00a0not to do My own will, but\u00a0the will of Him who\u00a0sent Me.\u00a039\u00a0And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of\u00a0everything that He has given Me I will\u00a0lose nothing, but will\u00a0raise it up on the last day.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0It is the will of God that Jesus would die to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy eternity with God. (John 3:16<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0It is not the will of God that anyone should perish but that all would humble themselves and receive the love of God through Jesus the Savior. (2 Peter 3:9<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0The will of God is to save all who would love Him through Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0God has willed eternal life for everyone, but He also gave us free will.\u00a0\u00a0God has made the way to Him to all.\u00a0\u00a0The invitation is given to all.\u00a0\u00a0Yet, like Jesus said, amazingly many will choose to perish rather than come to eternal paradise with Him.\u00a0\u00a0(Matthew 7:13-14<\/b>)<\/p>\n
\u201cFor this is the will of My Father, that everyone who\u00a0sees the Son and\u00a0believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will\u00a0raise him up on the last day.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0Jesus offered eternity with God to everyone but He compelled no one.\u00a0\u00a0The Holy Spirit calls out to the world to come to Jesus but compels no one.\u00a0\u00a0So we should share the Good News to all, but we can compel no-one.\u00a0\u00a0Let us fear for the one who is like a stubborn bull and resists, charging with head down insisting on his own path.\u00a0\u00a0Such think themselves brave and seek their own will.\u00a0\u00a0Fear for them, reason with them, cry to the Lord for them.\u00a0\u00a0We understand and fear for them who are like mindless brutes who resist wisdom.\u00a0\u00a0Some of us were once them.\u00a0\u00a0Oh let us share the Lord and pray that they may repent and serve God.\u00a0\u00a0May they be saved to the glory of God and for their own salvation!\u00a0\u00a0Oh may God be honored in their saving.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n
