John 5:16-29\u00a0<\/b>–\u00a0For this reason\u00a0the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on a Sabbath.\u00a017\u00a0But He answered them,\u00a0\u201cMy Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.\u201d\u00a0 18\u00a0For this reason therefore\u00a0the Jews\u00a0were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father,\u00a0making Himself equal with God.\u00a0 19\u00a0Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them,\u00a0\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you,\u00a0the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless\u00a0it is\u00a0something He sees the Father doing; for whatever\u00a0the Father does, these things the Son also does in the same way.\u00a020\u00a0For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and\u00a0the Father\u00a0will show Him\u00a0greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.\u00a021\u00a0For just as the Father raises the dead and\u00a0gives them life, so\u00a0the Son also gives life to whom He wishes.\u00a022\u00a0For not even the Father judges anyone, but\u00a0He has given all judgment to the Son,\u00a023\u00a0so that all will honor the Son just as they honor the Father.\u00a0The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. 24\u00a0\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and\u00a0believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and\u00a0does not come into judgment, but has\u00a0passed out of death into life.\u00a0 25\u00a0Truly, truly, I say to you,\u00a0a time is coming and\u00a0even now has arrived, when\u00a0the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who\u00a0hear will live.\u00a026\u00a0For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He\u00a0gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;\u00a027\u00a0and He gave Him authority to\u00a0execute judgment, because He is\u00a0the\u00a0Son of Man.\u00a028\u00a0Do not be amazed at this; for\u00a0a time is coming when\u00a0all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,\u00a029\u00a0and will come out:\u00a0those who did the good\u00a0deeds\u00a0to a resurrection of life, those who committed the bad\u00a0deeds\u00a0to a resurrection of judgment.<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cFor just as the Father raises the dead and\u00a0gives them life, so\u00a0the Son also gives life to whom He wishes.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0It is true that did the signs that were foretold the Messiah would do.\u00a0\u00a0He healed the sick and raised the dead.\u00a0\u00a0It was plain for all to see that Jesus was a man from God as Nicodemus revealed that even the Jewish leaders knew Jesus was from God. (John 3:2<\/b>) Like Nicodemus (who saw things with natural thought) they did not see the spiritual that Jesus was revealing.\u00a0\u00a0God gave Adam and Eve physical life and also spiritual life as they had not yet sinned and were spiritually alive.\u00a0\u00a0(Genesis 2-3<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0In\u00a0Ezekiel 37<\/b>\u00a0we see a picture of God first putting the bones back together and though their bodies were whole, they were lifeless.\u00a0\u00a0It was not until the Spirit breathed life into them that they will come alive.\u00a0\u00a0Ezekiel 36:26\u00a0<\/b>speaks of God, in the later days, giving His people a new heart and a new spirit within them.\u00a0\u00a0In\u00a0Joel 2:28-29\u00a0<\/b>the Lord speaks about an outpouring of His Holy Spirit and blessing and changing His people which we saw in\u00a0Acts 2<\/b>.\u00a0\u00a0In\u00a0V21<\/b>\u00a0shows that it is God who raises the dead and gives life and we know that it is Jesus who also moves the dead (now all people are born spiritually dead) as they believe Him and follow Him.\u00a0John 3:18<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0John 3:36\u00a0<\/b>clearly show the spiritual death that all are born into (because of Original Sin) and that it is through Jesus souls are moved from spiritual death to spiritual life.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus, both physically and spiritually, raised the dead.<\/p>\n
\u201c22\u00a0For not even the Father judges anyone, but\u00a0He has given all judgment to the Son,\u00a023\u00a0so that all will honor the Son just as they honor the Father.\u00a0The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0The Father has given the power of judgement to the Son.\u00a0\u00a0That judgement comes by a person\u2019s own decisions in life.\u00a0\u00a0Romans 3:23\u00a0<\/b>clearly shows that eternal life is only through Jesus, as the salvation plan of God clearly states. (1 John 5:11-12<\/b>) The judgement that leads to the second death is clear, it is for those who reject Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0Some will say they are \u201cspiritual\u201d but they will not believe the Gospel exclusively.\u00a0\u00a0Therefore, because of their relationship with Jesus eternal judgement is made known.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and\u00a0believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and\u00a0does not come into judgment, but has\u00a0passed out of death into life.\u201d\u2019<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0The one who does not believe who rejects Jesus has also rejected God\u2019s witness of Jesus (The Old and New Testaments).\u00a0\u00a0Such a person not only calls Jesus a liar, but also calls God the Father a liar.\u00a0\u00a0That will earn a person a permanent place in Lake of Fire.\u00a0\u00a0The good news is that all who love and believe the Father and Jesus, will be removed from the path of eternal death and will be put onto the path of eternal life.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n
\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you,\u00a0a time is coming and\u00a0even now has arrived, when\u00a0the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who\u00a0hear will live.\u00a026\u00a0For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He\u00a0gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;\u00a027\u00a0and He gave Him authority to\u00a0execute judgment, because He is\u00a0the\u00a0Son of Man.\u00a028\u00a0Do not be amazed at this; for\u00a0a time is coming when\u00a0all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,\u00a029\u00a0and will come out:\u00a0those who did the good\u00a0deeds\u00a0to a resurrection of life, those who committed the bad\u00a0deeds\u00a0to a resurrection of judgment.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0We remember that when Jesus says \u201cTruly, Truly<\/i>\u201d we better listen, listen.\u00a0\u00a0Everything Jesus said was important, but when He said that, He was telling something great importance.\u00a0\u00a0He was telling the Jews and us who He was.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus was God incarnate.\u00a0\u00a0I have heard people say that they would believe if God appeared to them and spoke to them.\u00a0\u00a0Family and Friends, Jesus was God in the flesh and He told us everything we needed to know concerning the salvation of our souls.\u00a0\u00a0He had and gave to us the words of life.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s receive Him and His words through Scripture and His Spirit.\u00a0\u00a0We all were born spiritually dead because of the fallen nature of all mankind.\u00a0\u00a0The words of Jesus will bring us from spiritual death to spiritual life.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus will come in and live with us and change our fallen nature to a living and vibrant born again life.\u00a0\u00a0He will take us out of death and into life.\u00a0\u00a0The secret to an abundant eternal life is Jesus and the secret is being spread throughout the world.\u00a0\u00a0The big question is if one will hear and believe.<\/p>\n
There is a time coming when all those who loved Jesus and have died will be resurrected to be eternally with Him. (Revelation 20:6, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0Dear Family and Friends it is a blessing to enjoy our life on earth, but to be happy here is not the goal.\u00a0\u00a0The goal, the sure promise is that Jesus will bring us to live eternally with Him.\u00a0John 14:1-3<\/b>\u00a0\u201c\u201cDo not let your heart be troubled;believe in God, believe also in Me.\u00a02\u00a0In My Father\u2019s house are many\u00a0rooms; if\u00a0that\u00a0were not\u00a0so,\u00a0I would have told you, because\u00a0I am going\u00a0there\u00a0to prepare a place for you.\u00a03\u00a0And if I go and prepare a place for you,\u00a0I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that\u00a0where I am,\u00a0there\u00a0you also will be.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0That is a promise of eternal peace and joy.\u00a0\u00a0That is what we strive for, it is our high and sure hope.\u00a0\u00a0Let our lives be lives that are lived through and for Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0That is what the Lord wants for our lives.\u00a0\u00a0Truly, I hope to see you all in eternity with Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God.<\/p>\n
