John 4:39-42\u00a0<\/b>–\u00a0Many of the Samaritans from that town\u00a0believed in Him because of the woman\u2019s testimony, \u201cHe told me everything I ever did.\u201d\u00a040\u00a0So when the Samaritans came to Him, they urged Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.\u00a041\u00a0And because of His words many more became believers.\u00a0 42\u00a0They said to the woman, \u201cWe no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cMany of the Samaritans from that town\u00a0believed in Him because of the woman\u2019s testimony, \u201cHe told me everything I ever did.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0The Samaritan woman told her Jesus story. She told what Jesus did for her and who she thought He was.\u00a0\u00a0We all should be so in love with Jesus, and so excited, that we can\u2019t wait to tell our story. When people see the reality of our Jesus story they may then begin to believe and they will want to know more.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0Some people from her town who heard her testimony believed in Him.\u00a0\u00a0Others were very interested to know more.\u00a0\u00a0When they came to Him, they wanted to know Him better and so they asked Him to stay a couple days longer.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd because of His words many more became believers.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Obviously they were \u201cgood soil\u201d just as the woman had been.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0They listened to Him and believed Him. (Matthew 13:23<\/b>) How beautiful!<\/p>\n
\u201cThey said to the woman, \u201cWe no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0They told the woman that now they believe not only because she told them about Jesus, but because now they personally know Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0This statement to her was not a brushoff of her witness to them but instead a joyous acclamation of their own relationship with Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0Their relationship with Jesus was fruit from her joyous sharing.\u00a0\u00a0And more so we see the joy of the sower and reaper perfectly united.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus sowed the seed, the woman then also sowed, and the result was the bountiful reaping of the village harvest.\u00a0\u00a0As wonderful as this woman sharing Jesus was to them, these people needed their own relationship with Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0John the Baptist has a ministering of lighting the way to Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0The Samaritan woman did the same.\u00a0\u00a0So do we joyously do.<\/p>\n
It is a true saying that God has only children, no grandchildren.\u00a0\u00a0How sadly mistaken are all those who think that they will not share their faith with their children.\u00a0\u00a0They will leave it up to them to find their way.\u00a0\u00a0Horror!\u00a0\u00a0If we don\u2019t guide them to Jesus then the world will guide them away from Him.\u00a0\u00a0And if away from Him, then away from eternal salvation with Him.\u00a0\u00a0Teach our children, teach all the children.\u00a0\u00a0Share with our family and friends.\u00a0\u00a0Tell everyone that Jesus has come into our hearts and saved our souls.\u00a0\u00a0Tell everyone, even those who seem to be the most unlikely to respond favorably.\u00a0\u00a0The Samaritan woman seemed like a hardened person who would not come to Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0Truly, at first she resisted, but to her blessing, Jesus persisted.\u00a0\u00a0To the Jewish converts, even ministering to the Samaritans seemed a waste of time, if not a dirty deed.\u00a0\u00a0But Jesus knew that the Father sent Him to save the world, not just the Jews, not just certain people, but to give everyone in the world a chance to be redeemed by God Himself.\u00a0\u00a0We never know who will come to Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0Tell everyone and let Jesus, who knows the minds and hearts of all, finish the work.\u00a0\u00a0When we share, when we pray, we have done what we are called to do and that is to love God, to love each other, and to share the Gospel.\u00a0\u00a0It produces a restful and peaceful sleep.\u00a0\u00a0(Psalm 3:21-24<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n
