John 1:43-51\u00a0<\/b>–\u00a0The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip,\u00a0he said to him,\u00a0\u201cFollow me.\u201d 44\u00a0Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida.\u00a045\u00a0Philip found Nathanael\u00a0and told him, \u201cWe have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law,\u00a0and about whom the prophets also wrote\u2014Jesus of Nazareth,\u00a0the son of Joseph.\u201d 46\u00a0\u201cNazareth! Can anything good come from there?\u201d\u00a0Nathanael asked. \u201cCome and see,\u201d said Philip.\u00a0<\/i>47\u00a0When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him,\u00a0\u201cHere truly is an Israelite\u00a0in whom there is no deceit.\u201d 48\u00a0\u201cHow do you know me?\u201d Nathanael asked. Jesus answered,\u00a0\u201cI saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.\u201d 49\u00a0Then Nathanael declared, \u201cRabbi,\u00a0you are the Son of God;\u00a0you are the king of Israel.\u201d 50\u00a0Jesus said,\u00a0\u201cYou believe\u00a0because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.\u201d\u00a051\u00a0He then added,\u00a0\u201cVery truly I tell you,\u00a0you\u00a0will see \u2018heaven open,\u00a0and the angels of God ascending and descending\u00a0on\u2019\u00a0the Son of Man.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cJesus said,\u00a0\u201cYou believe\u00a0because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.\u201d\u00a051\u00a0He then added,\u00a0\u201cVery truly I tell you,\u00a0you\u00a0will see \u2018heaven open,\u00a0and the angels of God ascending and descending\u00a0on\u2019\u00a0the Son of Man.\u201d\u00a0<\/i>\u00a0Jesus told Nathanael that he would see\u00a0\u201cgreater things than that\u201d<\/i>\u00a0referring to the supernatural knowledge that Jesus had just revealed. Nathanael was overwhelmed by Jesus and Jesus was telling him that walking with the Lord He would see such an overwhelming multitude of signs and miracles that were as the Apostle John would write\u00a0\u201cJesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the\u00a0books\u00a0that would be written.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0(John 21:25<\/b>) Nathanael would certainly see the miraculous happen many times over.\u00a0\u00a0He would see the Messiah walk a humble life and give time to minister and play with children, he would see the those crippled from birth healed, the deadly sick healed, the blind and the crippled healed, and he would see the dead raised to life.\u00a0\u00a0These were no amazing feats that a trickster or evil arts person could do.\u00a0\u00a0These were supernatural works that showed God at work.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A more wondrous sight than these signs was that God would humble Himself, step off His throne, to come to down us and allow Himself to be ridiculed, struck, tortured, killed, and unceremoniously buried and then rise from death, and after rising walk among men and women to be seen by many.\u00a0\u00a0Then Nathanael would see Him ascend into the clouds while promising to return back for His own.\u00a0\u00a0Greater than the works of healing was that Jesus could save souls from the sure track that leads to hell and put them on a track of eternal peace and fellowship with God. (John 3:16-18<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Yes, Nathanael would see much more than he could have imagined.<\/p>\n
We, as we live with our eyes open, daily seeking our Lord, and are thankful for the blessings He continuously gives us, the prayers He answers, and in His foresight the situations He saves us from even before they happen, also see many great wonders and signs.\u00a0\u00a0We might say that we have never seen the dead rise but is that true?\u00a0\u00a0Haven\u2019t we seen the spiritually dead come alive?\u00a0\u00a0Isn\u2019t the saving of a soul more wonderful than the saving of a body?\u00a0\u00a0A body brought back to life will die again but a soul made alive will live forever with God.\u00a0\u00a0Family we are honored to share the Gospel and see people made eternally alive.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!\u00a0\u00a0What a wondrous time we live in and, perhaps, we will see His return.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n
When Jesus told Nathanael that He would see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man He was referring to\u00a0Genesis 28:10-17<\/b>.\u00a0\u00a0In Jacob\u2019s dream he saw a stairway from earth to heaven with angels ascending and descending on it.\u00a0\u00a0Above the stairway was the Lord God.\u00a0\u00a0Jacob, after seeing this divine dream said\u00a0\u201cHow awesome is this place!\u00a0This is none other than the house of God;\u00a0this is the gate of heaven.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0What Nathanael could not have known is that Jesus was telling him that the Lord God who stood atop the stairway that Jacob had seen is Jesus Himself!\u00a0\u00a0Jacob\u2019s dream was wonderful, but it was a dream and the fulfillment of that dream was what Nathanael was going to experience!\u00a0\u00a0Wow!\u00a0\u00a0Family, we have the high honor of walking in the same reality that Nathanael would walk.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus is still alive, He is still doing the supernatural, He still loves us and He is still saving all who will come to live eternally with God.\u00a0\u00a0What an honor for us to see God move in the world, in our world today.\u00a0\u00a0Pray to have a mind, a heart and eyes that see and perceive the works of God.\u00a0\u00a0It begins with loving God and enacted by gratefulness to Him.\u00a0\u00a0Live in gratitude to God and see and comprehend the hand of God moving beside us, beside you, inside you.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n
