John 1:43-51\u00a0<\/b>–\u00a0The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip,\u00a0he said to him,\u00a0\u201cFollow me.\u201d 44\u00a0Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida.\u00a045\u00a0Philip found Nathanael\u00a0and told him, \u201cWe have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law,\u00a0and about whom the prophets also wrote\u2014Jesus of Nazareth,\u00a0the son of Joseph.\u201d 46\u00a0\u201cNazareth! Can anything good come from there?\u201d\u00a0Nathanael asked. \u201cCome and see,\u201d said Philip.\u00a0<\/i>47\u00a0When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him,\u00a0\u201cHere truly is an Israelite\u00a0in whom there is no deceit.\u201d 48\u00a0\u201cHow do you know me?\u201d Nathanael asked. Jesus answered,\u00a0\u201cI saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.\u201d 49\u00a0Then Nathanael declared, \u201cRabbi,\u00a0you are the Son of God;\u00a0you are the king of Israel.\u201d 50\u00a0Jesus said,\u00a0\u201cYou believe\u00a0because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.\u201d\u00a051\u00a0He then added,\u00a0\u201cVery truly I tell you,\u00a0you\u00a0will see \u2018heaven open,\u00a0and the angels of God ascending and descending\u00a0on\u2019\u00a0the Son of Man.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cThe next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip,\u00a0he said to him,\u00a0\u201cFollow me.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0Jesus decided to leave.\u00a0\u00a0He had another divine appointment.\u00a0\u00a0He did not happen upon Philip, He found him where He knew he would be.\u00a0\u00a0It is the same for all of us.\u00a0\u00a0We all had an appointment with the Lord God who had preordained it.\u00a0\u00a0For our benefit.\u00a0\u00a0He knew and loved us before all of creation. (Ephesians 1:4, Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:16<\/b>) Jesus located Philip exactly where He knew Philip would be.\u00a0\u00a0He knew exactly who Philip was and what he was destined to be.\u00a0\u00a0He not only knew what location to find him at, but He knew who and what he would be.\u00a0\u00a0The point is, that whatever our spiritual condition is upon the day we encounter the Lord, God knew what it would be.\u00a0\u00a0He knew our failures, our heartaches and our physical hurts and He still loved us and called us.\u00a0\u00a0And He still does.\u00a0\u00a0He knows each morning what regrets and sorrow we will wake with.\u00a0\u00a0He calls us, in whatever condition we wake, to follow Him.\u00a0\u00a0Remember He loves us and He can fix us.\u00a0\u00a0Every day He calls us to follow Him.<\/p>\n
Jesus said to Philip \u201cFollow me.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0Yes, it was an invite, but it was also a command.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cFollow me\u201d<\/i>\u00a0so that I may pluck you from the path that leads to hell.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cFollow me\u201d<\/i>\u00a0because I am on the only way to eternal life.\u00a0\u00a0For our sake He calls all of us to also follow Him.\u00a0\u00a0Yes He invites us, but He also informs us that we must follow Him or we will perish.\u00a0\u00a0No man comes to the Father unless they will submit and follow Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0It was an invitation and a command.\u00a0\u00a0Some may view it as a threat because the invite and command had no other good option but to obey and follow. To not follow meant the most dire of endings.\u00a0\u00a0But yet, we know that God did give the option.\u00a0\u00a0Man can and does choose.\u00a0\u00a0One unto life and one unto death. (John 3:18)\u00a0<\/b>It is an option and only a few of all of mankind will make the right choice.<\/p>\n
The Lord also says to us, all of us.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cFollow me.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0Now whatever doctrines you find dear, know that Jesus says to all of us every morning, Believers and Un-believers, to follow Him afresh every morning.\u00a0\u00a0There is no day that we should not commit to follow Him.\u00a0\u00a0Every day we have a choice and there is only one correct response.\u00a0\u00a0I pray that we all make the right one.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God that He is with us to help us.\u00a0\u00a0It is what He wants. (2 Peter 3:9<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0Praise God that He calls to all!\u00a0\u00a0Praise God who loves us!\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n
John 1:5<\/b>\u00a0\u201cThe light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
Psalm 150:6<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.\u00a0 Praise the Lord!<\/p>\n
Micah 7:7<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0But as for me, I watch\u00a0in hope\u00a0for the\u00a0Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will Hear\u00a0me.<\/p>\n
