Jeremiah 23:23-24<\/strong> – \u201cAm I only a God nearby,\u201d declares the\u00a0Lord, \u201cand not a God far away?\u00a0 24\u00a0Who can hide\u00a0in secret places so that I cannot see them?\u201d declares the\u00a0Lord.\u00a0 \u201cDo not I fill heaven and earth?\u201d declares the\u00a0Lord.<\/em><\/p>\n

Psalm 139:7-12<\/strong> – Where can I go from your Spirit?\u00a0 Where can I flee\u00a0from your presence?\u00a0 8\u00a0If I go up to the heavens,\u00a0you are there; if I make my bed\u00a0in the depths, you are there.\u00a0 9\u00a0If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10\u00a0even there your hand will guide me, your right hand\u00a0will hold me fast.\u00a0 11\u00a0If I say, \u201cSurely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,\u201d 12\u00a0even the darkness will not be dark\u00a0to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.<\/em><\/p>\n

A.W. Tozer wrote \u201cYet how He eludes us!\u00a0 For He is everywhere while He is nowhere, for \u201cwhere\u201d has to do with matter and space, and God is independent of both.\u00a0 He is unaffected by time or motion, is wholly self-dependent and owes nothing to the world His hands have made.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today most elevate earned knowledge above faith, but knowledge eludes those who trust self to gain knowledge and who sneer at faith. Yet wisdom and faith in God bring esoteric wisdom to those know what it is to sit at the feet of God and listen.<\/p>\n

Oh Lord God Almighty we are enthralled by You!<\/p>\n

Why should any part of Your creation<\/p>\n

Distract us from the beauty of You?<\/p>\n

Why should anything powerful bring us to awe<\/p>\n

When You are before us?<\/p>\n

Our amazement belongs to You Oh Lord!<\/p>\n

We delight over a butterfly that<\/p>\n

Lands and rests upon our palm.<\/p>\n

As it stretches out its wings and<\/p>\n

Rests upon our hand,<\/p>\n

Though we have the might<\/p>\n

To crush, it need not fear<\/p>\n

And does not fear.<\/p>\n

We are awed by its fragile beauty<\/p>\n

And give it good reason<\/p>\n

For its trust,<\/p>\n

Which will not be betrayed.<\/p>\n

We understand a sacred moment<\/p>\n

Of protecting the given trust of one<\/p>\n

Who seeks refuge in our hand.<\/p>\n

Lovely is it and so trusting and fragile.<\/p>\n

In the sanctity of its trust<\/p>\n

And of the special moment,<\/p>\n

We are moved to love and protect,<\/p>\n

To guard from harm<\/p>\n

With all our might.<\/p>\n

We instantly love and delight<\/p>\n

In this beautiful delicate creature.<\/p>\n

Then, like a drawn horse<\/p>\n

Our thoughts move from the butterfly<\/p>\n

To our Lord who loves us so.<\/p>\n

As delicate and trusting as the butterfly is<\/p>\n

More so are we to the God.<\/p>\n

As loving and protecting as we to the butterfly<\/p>\n

Is the Lord to us.<\/p>\n

In His palm we rest and trust,<\/p>\n

We are safe and calm<\/p>\n

In His palm,<\/p>\n

Why would we jump from so sure a foundation,<\/p>\n

To an unknown landing<\/p>\n

Where death seeks to prey?<\/p>\n

The butterfly cannot explain our existence<\/p>\n

And it does not demand from us an explanation,<\/p>\n

Or justify ourselves.<\/p>\n

It merely enjoys the security we provide.<\/p>\n

Lord, may we be as wise as the butterfly<\/p>\n

That does not demand to fully understand,<\/p>\n

Or explanations of why we are trustworthy.<\/p>\n

May we live in faith<\/p>\n

On the hand of You God<\/p>\n

You hold us.<\/p>\n

In the hand of God is peace and security<\/p>\n

In the hand of God we are loved and kept.<\/p>\n

In the hand of God may we be,<\/p>\n

As wise as the butterfly,<\/p>\n

Resting completely upon You.<\/p>\n

Psalm 150:6<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.\u00a0 Praise the Lord!<\/p>\n

Micah 7:7<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0But as for me, I watch\u00a0in hope\u00a0for the\u00a0Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear\u00a0me.<\/p>\n
