Numbers 22:18-19<\/b>\u00a0\u201cBut Balaam answered them,\u00a0\u201cEven if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything great or small to go beyond the command of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0my God.\u00a019\u00a0Now spend the night here so that I can find out what else the\u00a0Lord\u00a0will tell me.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
Even though Balaam said this words, he was not committed to obedience to the Lord.\u00a0\u00a0His obvious desire to disobey the Lord is on full display. He is clear in his knowledge that God does not desire the Israelites to be cursed. What is he hoping? Is it that God may change His mind because the reward to Balaam will now be higher? Why does Balaam, having this personal relationship with the Lord, consider anything of the world worth having above or equal to the blessing of God? Or did he think he may have both?\u00a0\u00a0Even today too many who profess to love and follow Christ also, like Balaam, want both, the blessings of God and the things of this world. But The Lord’s Word is clear “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world\u2014the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life\u2014comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”<\/i>\u00a01 John 2:15-17<\/b><\/p>\n
1 John 2:16-17\u00a0<\/b>was also expressed by Joshua\u00a0\u201cNow fear the\u00a0Lord\u00a0and serve him with all faithfulness.\u00a0Throw away the gods\u00a0your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt,\u00a0and serve the\u00a0Lord.\u00a015\u00a0But if serving the\u00a0Lord\u00a0seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites,\u00a0in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household,\u00a0we will serve the\u00a0Lord.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0(Joshua 24:14-15<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0Both of these verses instruct us to make up our minds to love God above all else and don\u2019t be wishy washy. Jesus told us that we can love the world or we can love the Lord, but we cannot love both. (Matthew 6:24<\/b>) The problem is that people think they are wiser than the Lord.\u00a0\u00a0They think they can figure a way to do both.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus said that is not possible.\u00a0\u00a0So believe either Jesus, or the lies of corrupted hearts (Jeremiah 17:9<\/b>) and the lies of the enemy (John 8:44<\/b>).\u00a0\u00a0What God said is true and anything and everything that contradicts God and His Word, is wrong, it is a lie from the enemy.\u00a0\u00a0Of that, there is no exception.<\/p>\n
Family and Friends, Jesus, the Word in the flesh, and the written Word are always right and never needs to be updated.\u00a0\u00a0As if God didn\u2019t know what sinful man would be saying in our days.\u00a0\u00a0Believe God and have eternal life.\u00a0\u00a0Don\u2019t believe Him and perish.\u00a0\u00a0It really is that simple.\u00a0\u00a0(John 3:18, 36<\/b>).\u00a0\u00a0Jesus said all the law hung on the two laws of love, to love God with all that we are and to love each other. (Matthew 22:37-40<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0If we truly love, then we obey.\u00a0\u00a0(John 14:15<\/b>)\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0If we don\u2019t obey, we don\u2019t truly love. (1 John 5:3, 1 Samuel 15:22<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0Sound harsh?\u00a0\u00a0Well it\u2019s not harsh, it is pure truth given with love to save our souls.\u00a0\u00a0Trust God and be eternally blessed God. (Proverbs 3:5-7<\/b>)\u00a0\u00a0The key that opens the doors of heaven is to love and obey Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0We must truly love God and then we will cast the world aside as our love is totally focused on Him. And God has made it easy, because it is not our works, but rather it is trusting solely on the work of Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!<\/p>\n
Psalm 150:6<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.\u00a0 Praise the Lord!<\/p>\n
