Acts 22:10\u00a0<\/b>–\u00a0\u201c\u2018What shall I do, Lord?\u2019 I asked.\u00a0 \u201c\u2018Get up,\u2019\u00a0the Lord said,\u00a0\u2018and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.\u2019\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201c\u2026go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0 Something to notice is that Jesus did not say \u201cplease go\u201d and He did not say that Paul will be asked to do his assignments.\u00a0 Jesus said \u201cgo<\/i>\u201d and that Paul will be told what he has to do.\u00a0 No pleading.\u00a0 No mollycoddling, no \u201cI hope you will do as I hope you will.\u201d\u00a0 God does no plead with men but only directs him, for the person\u2019s own good.\u00a0 Should the direction of God be rejected it is not to consternation of God but to the peril of the man.\u00a0 The will of God will be done, by use of one person or another, or by divine intervention.\u00a0 We must remember that God loves us and also we should remember that He needs us for nothing. None of us helped Him create all of creation!\u00a0 Directing us to do something is like a father asking a young son to help dig a big ditch.\u00a0 The child may only be able to get one full shovel of dirt dug while the Dad digs out the whole ditch.\u00a0 The Dad then rewards the son with praise for his part in digging the ditch.\u00a0 He tells the son that \u201cthey\u201d dug the ditch.\u00a0 The son feels tremendous pleasure and value in helping his Dad.\u00a0 The Dad did not need the son to help.\u00a0 The Dad provided the son with everything that he needed to dig and the son only provided his willingness.\u00a0 The Dad could have done all the work by himself.\u00a0 But in allowing the son to help he builds his relationship with his son and he builds his son, and he builds his son\u2019s relationship with him.\u00a0 God does the same for us.\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t \u201cneed\u201d our help, but He allows us to help for our own good.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Everything God directs us to do is the bidding of God but let\u2019s not be deceived, anything God asks us to do is Him blessing us.\u00a0 Yes, we do Kingdom work, but God has dug the ditch.<\/p>\n
Jesus said that those who love Him will obey Him (John 14:14<\/b>).\u00a0\u00a0Yes, Jesus said that we are His friends, but in\u00a0John 15:14<\/b>\u00a0He gave further understanding on being His friend when He said \u201cYou are my friends\u00a0if you do what I command.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0You see a person who loves their king will do anything for their king, even if it brings them hardship.\u00a0\u00a0So it is with Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0We belong to Him only if we love Him and what He has done for us.\u00a0\u00a0John 14:14<\/b>\u00a0clearly gives a very clear indicator of whether we love Him and, that is, if we will obey Him.\u00a0\u00a0And along with that, we will be eternally thankful and respectful to Him for all that He has done for us.\u00a0\u00a0We will do all that He commands to the best of our ability.\u00a0\u00a0The son did his best for his Dad and was rewarded for that.\u00a0\u00a0It was the son\u2019s heart that the Dad looked upon and was shaping and not his ability.\u00a0\u00a0So it is with God, He looks on our heart (1 Samuel 16:7<\/b>).\u00a0\u00a0He can enable anyone, or anything, to do His will (Numbers 22:21-33, Luke 19:40<\/b>).\u00a0\u00a0Anything that we do in God\u2019s service is because He has gifted us with the ability.\u00a0\u00a0God want\u2019s our heart.\u00a0\u00a0If God tells us to do something, not asking \u201cpretty please\u201d or when we \u201chave the time,\u201d then God is giving us the great honor of doing it promptly and to the best of our ability.\u00a0\u00a0We do it in order to serve our God and King in a way that reveals that our heart is right with Him (Luke 6:45<\/b>) and we desire to appropriately honor Him.\u00a0\u00a0God is God and there are no others beside Him (1 Samuel 2:2<\/b>).\u00a0\u00a0Those who think God should \u201cask\u201d and not \u201ctell\u201d need to check their heart.\u00a0\u00a0As for us who love God, when God directs us then we joyously jump up and run for the honor of serving Him (Micah 7:7<\/b>\u00a0\u201cBut as for me, I watch\u00a0in hope\u00a0for the\u00a0Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear\u00a0me.<\/i>\u201d)\u00a0\u00a0God deserves no less.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!\u00a0\u00a0Oh Family, sing and say praises to our God!<\/p>\n
Psalm 150:6<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.\u00a0 Praise the Lord!<\/i><\/p>\n
