Psalm 10:16-17\u00a0<\/b>\u2013\u00a0The\u00a0Lord\u00a0is King for ever and ever; the nations\u00a0will perish from his land.\u00a0 17\u00a0You,\u00a0Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, 18\u00a0defending the fatherless\u00a0and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.<\/i><\/p>\n
Lord God I confess that my heart, which I thought so soft, has too often been hard.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been to minister to the homeless, the hurting and the forgotten at shelters, convalescent homes and the street.\u00a0 I\u2019ve loved them and prayed with them, served them meals and cleaned up after them.\u00a0 Meeting them has warmed my heart.\u00a0 But Family and Friends, I confess my heart has not always been broken for them.\u00a0 I was there because I came in Jesus name, but my heart was not as the Lord\u2019s heart.\u00a0 When ministering to them my heart was not inconsolable for them.\u00a0 I saw the cry in their eyes and their broken hearts inside.\u00a0 In their eyes was the cry their lips never uttered.\u00a0\u00a0 They knew better than I that I was there to serve, but was not to deeply know their pain.\u00a0 The silent cry of their heart knocked on the door of my heart and instead of being invited in, it was given a handout.\u00a0 God forgive me my hard heart that has served but has not loved and bled for this people as you love and bleed for them.\u00a0 I confess my shallow love for those who lack basic food, shelter and protection.\u00a0 I confess that I have not protected these.\u00a0 I have not protected those who are hurting and need help.\u00a0 Oh, I\u2019ve given, but the giving of my heart, oh Lord, has not been as it should be.\u00a0 Lord do what you must to make my heart softer, more tender, more responsive to the needs of those around me.\u00a0\u00a0 Please make me more like new You.\u00a0 Nothing else will do than to be increasing more like you, day by day, and needy by needy.\u00a0 Whether in a palace or unprotected and exposed to the elements, may my heart break.\u00a0 Please let my heart break for all in need, both physically and spiritually.\u00a0 Please, Lord, raise my level of love.\u00a0 Oh that I might love as You love Lord.\u00a0 Make me new Lord Jesus, please make me new.<\/p>\n
