Acts 7:1-51 \/ 30\u00a0<\/b>\u2013\u00a0\u201cAfter forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.<\/i><\/span>\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0 Moses was forty when he, aware of his calling, attempted to enact his calling in his own power and understanding.\u00a0 After that did not work he spent forty years in the desert where God molded a proud Moses into a humble man.\u00a0 At forty years old, before his time in Midian, Moses thought that he was ready to rescue the Israelites.\u00a0 After his forty years, at eighty years old, Moses was a different and humble man. (Exodus 3-4<\/b>)\u00a0 He no longer had any desire to confront the Pharaoh and lead the Israelites in his own power.\u00a0 He realized that He was not able to fulfill his calling in his own power.\u00a0 He knew that He needed God to do the work.\u00a0 He had learned what David would later proclaim to Goliath, that he was not the one who could bring the victory, but it must be God Himself who does the work. (1 Samuel 17:45-47<\/b>)\u00a0 Family, we too know that the victory for our salvation and for the ministries the Lord has for us to do, are not by the our own hands, or the hands of any man, but are by the hands of God \u201cAll those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battles is the LORD\u2019S, and He will give all of you into our hands.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0 Like David, we trust God for the victory and give Him all the credit.\u00a0 But David had to do what God called him to do.\u00a0 David, with complete faith in the Lord, ran to face the giant to see the victory that the Lord would provide.\u00a0 Moses left to do as the Lord had called Him to do.\u00a0 He too, believing God to provide the victory, had to do his part and He left Midian and crossed the desert to confront Pharaoh where he would watch the Lord provide the victory.\u00a0 Family, we too must wait on the Lord.\u00a0 We must let Him fully prepare us for the task and we must wait for the reality of Him to fill every part of our being.\u00a0 Then we shall run to face the giant and we will cross the desert to face the Pharoah, knowing it is only God Himself who will accomplish the victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Victory In Jesus<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory
\nHow He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me
\nI heard about His groaning, of His precious blood’s atoning
\nThen I repented of my sins and won the victory
\nOh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever
\nHe sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood
\nHe loved me ‘ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him
\nHe plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood\u2026<\/p>\n
