Oh my God and my Lord<\/p>\n
Almighty God, I cling to you<\/p>\n
I am weak Lord<\/p>\n
Not strong like you<\/p>\n
For the world wears me down<\/p>\n
Unseen powers plot against me<\/p>\n
Their prize, the object of their lust<\/p>\n
Is my soul<\/p>\n
They live for my destruction<\/p>\n
Squealing with glee at my distractions<\/p>\n
And celebrating my downcast soul<\/p>\n
As hungry hyenas rip apart the wounded beast<\/p>\n
So my enemies pounce at the smallest opportunity<\/p>\n
Yet Lord I belong to you<\/p>\n
Appearing defenseless and weak<\/p>\n
I am mightily protected and strong<\/p>\n
If it were my defenses I was relying upon<\/p>\n
What a wretched morsel I would be<\/p>\n
Ripped apart and devoured alive<\/p>\n
Witnessing my destruction and powerless to stop it<\/p>\n
Yet I am within an impregnable fortress with no means of entry<\/p>\n
Deep within the city of the Lord I am safe<\/p>\n
While the enemy ravishes a dead carcass<\/p>\n
My soul and spirit rest safely<\/p>\n
My belly is full and my thirst is satisfied<\/p>\n
I remain safe, warm and at peace<\/p>\n
Where I reside with you oh Lord<\/p>\n
Here the enemy cannot come near<\/p>\n
Who shall batter the walls of the King<\/p>\n
To snatch me from this house<\/p>\n
I cannot hear the threats being yelled at me<\/p>\n
My rest is full and complete<\/p>\n
While a carcass is torn apart<\/p>\n
I live with He who created life<\/p>\n
He who has vanquished my enemy<\/p>\n
Mocking him before all in the universe<\/p>\n
He who cannot lose has hidden me in His house<\/p>\n
No harm may come near me as I rest<\/p>\n
I will open no windows to hear the enemy\u2019s threats<\/p>\n
Jesus, Mighty King and Prince of Peace<\/p>\n
Has hidden me safely and I hear the song of His voice<\/p>\n
As a mother\u2019s voice soothes her child<\/p>\n
He calms my soul and gives my head<\/p>\n
A soft place to rest<\/p>\n
In a comfortable bed provided by He who loves me<\/p>\n
Laughing is outside the open door of my room<\/p>\n
I hear my Father\u2019s voice and the voice of<\/p>\n
He who saves me<\/p>\n
They stand guard while I soundly sleep<\/p>\n
He has me deeply hidden<\/p>\n
Outside the ravaging continues<\/p>\n
Though I cannot hear it<\/p>\n
