1 John 1:9, 2:1-2 –\u00a0<\/b>If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins\u00a0and purify us from all unrighteousness.\u00a0My dear children,\u00a0I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate\u00a0with the Father\u2014Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.\u00a0He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins,\u00a0and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.<\/i><\/p>\n
John 8:36<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0So if the Son sets you\u00a0free, you will be\u00a0free\u00a0indeed.<\/i><\/p>\n
The famous\u00a0John 3:16<\/b>\u00a0states that God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to suffer and die so that Jesus could lead us back to eternal fellowship with God.\u00a0 Yet, though we hate it, we still sin.\u00a0 In spiritual agony we cry out to God \u201cOh wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?\u201d<\/i>(Romans 7:24<\/b>) We cry out to God that we will never do that sin again, and then we do.\u00a0 It is horrible and we can feel horrible.<\/p>\n
But our wise and omniscient God has thought of everything (of course! =)).\u00a0 Jesus did not just pay the price for the sins of our past, but also for the sins we will do today, and for the sins that we will do for the future.\u00a0\u00a01 John 1:9, 2:1-2<\/b>\u00a0make it clear that the grace of God continues to cleanse us.\u00a0 We need to truly repent, pick ourselves up and continue to believe God\u2019s promise that He will not forget or forsake us but to continue to sanctify us.\u00a0\u00a01 Peter 1:1-2<\/b>\u00a0\u201cPeter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God\u2019s elect,\u00a0exiles\u00a0scattered\u00a0throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia,\u00a0Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,<\/span>\u00a02\u00a0who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge\u00a0of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit,\u00a0to be obedient\u00a0to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0 Yes we are chosen by God the Father, redeemed through Jesus, and the Holy Spirit never leaves us and is continually and constantly sanctifying us.\u00a0 Therefore as\u00a01 Peter 1:2<\/b>\u00a0states, grace and peace are ours in abundance. In fact, a never ending, never exhausted flow of grace comes to us through Jesus. Yes, inexhaustible!\u00a0 Praise God!\u00a0 And because God has thought of everything, our job is wonderfully to love God and obey Him as best we can every day.\u00a0 This is not to be taken lightly, and yet it sets us free to walk in His peace and joy!\u00a0 Jesus came to set free all who will come to Him, bow their hearts, their minds and their souls to Him as their Savior and Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n Family, yes it wounds us to hurt the Lord by our sinning.\u00a0 But God understands, His love remains (Hebrews 4:15<\/b>), He will never cast us away (John 6:37<\/b>), so we are free to live our lives in the joy and peace of God that can never be taken away.\u00a0 The joy and peace that is not dependent on circumstances or events is ours for eternity.\u00a0 We are free.\u00a0 Let\u2019s remember that and let the freedom given to us reign.\u00a0 May His love, His joy, and His perfect peace flow through us that God is glorified.\u00a0 Praise God who loves us so!\u00a0 Praise God!<\/span><\/p>\n Psalm 150:6<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.\u00a0 Praise the Lord!<\/p>\n Micah 7:7<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0But as for me, I watch\u00a0in hope\u00a0for the\u00a0Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear\u00a0me.<\/p>\n Micah 6:8<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0He has shown You, O man, what\u00a0is\u00a0good; And what does the\u00a0Lord\u00a0require of You but to do justly, to love mercy, And to walk humbly with Your God.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 1 John 1:9, 2:1-2 –\u00a0If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins\u00a0and purify us from all unrighteousness.\u00a0My dear children,\u00a0I write this to you so that you will not sin.
