Psalm 1<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Blessed is the one who does not walk\u00a0in step with the wicked or stand in the way\u00a0that sinners take or sit\u00a0in the company of mockers, 2\u00a0but whose delight\u00a0is in the law of the\u00a0Lord, and who meditates\u00a0on his law day and night. 3\u00a0That person is like a tree\u00a0planted by streams\u00a0of water, which yields its fruit\u00a0in season and whose leaf\u00a0does not wither\u2014 whatever they do prospers.\u00a0 4\u00a0Not so the wicked!\u00a0 They are like chaff that the wind blows away.\u00a0 5\u00a0Therefore the wicked will not stand\u00a0in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly\u00a0of the righteous.\u00a0 6\u00a0For the\u00a0Lord\u00a0watches over\u00a0the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.<\/i><\/p>\n
Blessed, meaning \u201chappy,\u201d or perhaps more fully an interjection meaning \u201cOh happy man!\u201d\u00a0 Oh how happy is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked!\u00a0 Happy is the one who does not assume the positions and standard of those who are mockers of God and His ways.\u00a0\u00a0 Happy is the one who has settled his mind and cannot be swayed away from serving the Lord.\u00a0 Happy is the one who will not consider going back into the ways of the world.\u00a0 The ones of the world are mockers because they resist the heavenly calling from God.\u00a0 They do not consider it something that they choose as worthy for their lives, but rather they choose the ways of the world, which truly is a way and not ways.<\/p>\n
There are only two ways.\u00a0 The way of following God and also the way of not following God.\u00a0 For the latter it matters not what the road they are traveling is named, they all have the same destination. It is not true that all roads lead to Heaven.\u00a0 It is true that one road does and the rest lead to hell. \u00a0Those who refuse God all mock the loving call from Him by their very resistance.\u00a0 They mock the Word of God that teaches that God is their creator and teaches that man was meant to serve God.\u00a0 If they choose not to submit to and serve God, then they call God something unworthy of being their Savior and Master. But the child of God, who delights in all that the Lord reveals, that person is blessed.\u00a0 Oh how happy is that one!\u00a0 Blessed is the one who follows the way of God and therefore does not fear the next day, or eternity.\u00a0 Happy, happy is the one who serves God, who rests in God, for none can snatch him away from His God (John 10:28<\/b>).\u00a0 Such is a person who lies on verdant land beside a cool running stream and need not worry about provision and safety for God is his Provider and Protector.\u00a0 That person will live forever, while the ungodly shall die and not be remembered.\u00a0 Family, Jesus said, in\u00a0Matthew 11:28-30\u00a0<\/b>\u201cCome to me,\u00a0all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.\u00a029\u00a0Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,\u00a0for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.\u00a030\u00a0For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0 In\u00a0John 14:27<\/b>\u00a0Jesus said\u00a0\u201cPeace I leave with you; my peace I give you.\u00a0I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled\u00a0and do not be afraid.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0 We are called to our Savior who is gentle, who leads us out of darkness and who breaks the chains that burden us (Psalm 107:13-14<\/b>).\u00a0 We rest in the peace that Jesus gives because Jesus is Lord, and God, and is ruler of all (Revelation 19:16<\/b>) and none can resist Him.\u00a0 The eternal King of kings and Lord of lords is He who zealously stands guard over us.\u00a0 We sleep at the feet, and in the love, of the only Almighty God, whom shall we fear!\u00a0\u00a0Psalm 23<\/b>\u00a0speaks of the loving goodness of God toward all who call Jesus Savior and Lord.\u00a0 They lack nothing, they rest in peaceful places, God refreshes their soul, He guides every step of His children, and assures them, by His love and will, that they are safe wherever they shall be.\u00a0 The children of the Lord stop to eat, refresh and enjoy a meal when surrounded by enemies who murderously threaten.\u00a0 Such is the inheritance of those of the Lord.\u00a0 Whether the enemy is a man or demon, we are at rest because we belong to God.\u00a0 Oh how blessed, what happy people we are, who love and serve God.\u00a0 Let\u2019s enjoy the rest that we have because we belong to Jesus!\u00a0 Let\u2019s enjoy Him.\u00a0 He really is all we can hope for and beyond!\u00a0 Praise our Savior and Lord Jesus!\u00a0 Praise God!<\/p>\n
