Once again, yes once again,
I awake and find myself,
In a desperate place.
How many times I have awoken,
To find myself in this place,
Crying out to You and knowing,
I can do nothing without You.
Everything, every blessing I have,
Comes from You.
I am from the dirt of the ground.
My existence would have never began,
I would have never walked this earth,
Without Your intention for me to do so.
If not for You, I am empty.
My soul cries out to You,
Yet even my soul is a gift from You.
Everything, all things of me and about me,
Are from You.
Have I not heard,
Do I not know,
Daily shall I not consider,
How much of nothing I am?
In this knowledge,
I am grateful,
Peace comes in this knowledge.
Oh how helpless I am!
Indeed I am a worm,
A creation of Yours,
Unable to protect myself,
Solely dependent on You for sustenance.
I am unable to care for myself,
It is only You who has sustained me.
Only You Lord,
There is only You.
In the morning,
As I awaken from slumber,
Just as when You created me,
I awake to You.
You are present as I open my eyes,
When the midday suns shines on me,
You warm me from within.
Before I sleep,
It is You who brings comfort and peace,
Always it is You.
Once again, yes once again,
I awake and find myself,
In a desperate place.
Solely dependent on You.
It matters not my circumstance,
I am in a desperate place,
It is where I want to be,
Where I want to live!
Ever may I live in desperation for You!
Ever may Your praise flow from my lips,
Your glory to glory revealed moment by moment,
In a total awareness of my desperate condition,
It is where I want to live.
Living in your strength,
Is where I am blessed to live.
Highest praise to God,
Blood from my heart is not mine,
Flowing from me,
It is Your blood God,
For You live within,
It is your shed blood.
Tears from my eyes,
Start from your heart.
You hurt for me more,
Than I myself hurt.
Desperate for You,
Here is my peace.
I shall not be afraid,
Desperate for You,
Oh how blessed I am!
That You would allow me,
To be desperate for You!
